Residents of Kupwara town held a protest demonstration today against the shifting of outpatient department (OPD) to the under-construction building of sub-district hospital Kupwara.
Locals, who had assembled in the premises of the hospital,said the authorities have “hastened the shifting of the OPD to the buildingwhich is yet under construction.”
“We have been waiting for completion of this building forlast ten years, but now when it’s near completion, the administration hasordered shifting of the OPD,” said Showkat Masoodi a local.
The under construction building of the hospital has missedmany deadlines and awaits completion for a decade now.
“There was no hurry of shifting of the OPD before thebuilding could be completed,” he said.
“There are many things incomplete in the building, which arenecessary,” Ashraf, a local said.
Meanwhle the locals appealed to the higher authorities toroll back the order of shifting the OPD to the new building till it iscompleted.
