Kupwara woman dies in car mishap in central Kashmir’s Budgam

Srinagar, Jun 25: A woman from north Kashmir’s Kupwara was killed after the car she was driving, rolled down a gorge at Tangnar area along Doodhpathri road in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday afternoon.

According to news agency GNS, the incident occurred after a family returning from the scenic spot Doodhpathri stopped for snacks at Tangnar area.

   

In the meantime, one female identified as one Saima Rasheed daughter of Abdul Rasheed from Kupwara started the vehicle.

Akhter soon lost control over the vehicle, resulting in it rolling down a gorge along the road stretch. She was later retrieved dead from the depth.

Confirming the fatal incident, a police official told GNS that the girl was an ‘‘amateur’’ driver and as known would occasionally drive.

“We have registered a case in this matter for further investigations”, the official further said.
