Locals blame forces for opening fire at Srigufwara, injuring a vendor

A man was injured after government forces allegedly opened fire in Srigufwara area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.

Local residents said the forces opened fire in response to a loud sound, apparently tyre burst or a firecracker, injuring Javed Ahmad Waza, a vegetable vendor. He is being treated at SKIMS, Soura for a gunshot wound in his back.

   

Anantnag senior superintendent of police Altaf Ahmad Khan, however, told a local news agency that the vegetable vendor was shot at by gunmen.
