‘Make In India’ a non-starter in Jammu and Kashmir: Legislator

A ruling party MLA from Kupwara Bashir Ahmad Dar on Wednesday stated that central government’s initiative, ‘Make in India’ was a non-starter in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dar, a Peoples Conference MLA said this while speaking on grants for industries department in the Legislative Assembly.

“We have not moved a single step forward in Government of India’s Make in India,” Dar said.

He said the J&K industrial sector could have accommodated the educated youth through different means given the lack of job opportunity in the government sector.

“Industries department can act as an alternative for educated youth to earn their livelihood but it has failed to do so,” he said.
