Man booked for abusive, hateful Tweets

The police on Saturday booked a man for advocating killing of Kashmiris, abusing Kashmiri women and making other hateful remarks on his Twitter handle.

Ashish Kaul, who as per his Twitter profile works for a US-based company Development Dimensions International Inc., and is currently on a vacation in Gurgaon, Delhi, wrote on Twitter:

“Kill the b***s economically and let them sell their daughters, wives in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to feed themselves!”

In another tweet, Kaul wrote: “I love when Kashmiri Muslim women cry on roads- Ye Masooomtha ,begunahtha! Amarnath Cha thus YaZadadi- the proof is in the causality chart of last 1 year, sorry 8 years, We are killing, maiming and raping you at will! Ha Haa, Cry aloud Azaadi”.

Director general of police Sheesh Paul Vaid said Kaul has been booked and the state police was in touch with Delhi counterparts.

“We will arrest the person and block his Twitter account,” Vaid told Greater Kashmir.

The police have asked Twitter India to provide the details of Kaul so that he is made to face the law, a police statement said.

Social media users reported the abusive Tweet to not only the Twitter but also to Kaul’s company, asking them to take appropriate action against him.

On its Twitter handle, the company said: “DDI immediately launched a full investigation upon discovering this issue. We do not condone violence of any kind, & this issue goes beyond a simple matter of employment. We can verify that this person no longer works for DDI, & we are continuing to address the situation fully.”

The move comes a day after five Kashmiri people including four women were allegedly roughed up by 30 to 40 people at Sunlight Colony in east Delhi.
