A man died after a poplar tree came down crashing on his car in Shadipora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday.
A police official said that Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a resident of Narbal in Budgam district died on the spot after the tree fell on his car, bearing registration number JK01R 3736.
He said that the incident happened when some persons were felling the trees in the area.
“Police station Shadipora Ganderbal has lodged an FIR against the negligence of tree cutters and started an investigation into the matter,” he said.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been handed over to his family for last rites.
