Shopian , July 4: A 25- year-old man died due to drowning in a dam at a village in south Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Nasir Ahamd Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Dhobipora Shopian.
An official told Greater Kashmir that Nasir took a dip into the dam in Kadgam village to beat the scorching summer heat.
"He went deep into the waters and was drowned," said the official.
His body was later recovered from the dam.
