A man was killed and his wife critically injured after unknown gunmen shot them at their house in Harwan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday night.
Reports said that gunmen barged inside the home of Muhammad Ashraf Mir (35), son of Muhammad Jamal around 9:30 pm and fired at him and his wife Saima Begum, leaving them critically injured.
They were rushed to sub-district hospital Sopore where Mir breathed his last.
A doctor at the facility said that Begum was referred to Srinagar for speciliased treatment.
An official said that a police party has reached at the spot.
A police spokesman said that the slain was a driver by profession.
