Man stabbed in Pulwama village

A 30-year-old man was stabbed by unknown persons at a village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Sunday night.

A police official said that Shabir Ahmad Ganie son of Habibullah Ganie was knifed in abdomen by some unidentified persons in Naypora Payen village around 9.30 pm.

   

He was immediately rushed to district hospital Pulwama where his condition is said to be stable, the official said, adding that a case has been registered in the matter. 

Meanwhile, a man was injured in a bear attack at a village in south Kashmir’ Shopian district on Sunday.

A police official said that Ghulam Mohidin Ganie was attacked by a bear while he was working in his orchard in Lundoora village.

He raised an alarm that caught the attention of farmers working in nearby fields, the official said, adding that they rushed to the spot and chased away the beast.

Ganie was soon rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
