MANUU students of Budgam campus seek cancellation of winter vacation

The post graduate students at Budgam satellite campus of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Sunday urged the administration to cancel their winter vacations for compensating the academic losses. The vacations are likely to start from December 15.

The demand for cancellation of the vacation comes in wake ofthe academic losses suffered by the students during past more than three monthswhen the educational institutions across Kashmir remained closed post August 5,the day government of India abrogated Article 370 of Constitution.

   

“We couldn’t attendclasses owing to which major portion of our syllabus is incomplete. We want tocontinue our classes during winter months and later appear in exams,” said agroup of 3rd semester students.

TheMANUU runs in a building of a College of education in Humhama area of Budgam asconstruction of the main campus was yet to be started.

The students urged the authorities to schedule their 3rdsemester exams in February after full preparation by them.

“We were supposed to appear in exams in first week ofDecember but our syllabus was not completed on time due to the closure ofeducational institutions. We should be given some time to prepare for theexams,” the students said.
