Incarcerated chairman of Muslim League Masarat Alam Bhat was produced before a court here on Saturday and later taken back to Kotebalwal Jail in Jammu, a ML spokesman said in a statement.
"He was produced in Forest Court where after hearing the arguments the judge fixed the next hearing on October 16."
"Central and state governments have set new policies and methods for his continued imprisonment under baseless cases, which is worst kind of human rights violation and is highly condemnable," the spokesman alleged.
He said, "Masrat's PSA has been quashed by judiciary and even 36th PSA is about to complete. Despite that he has been implicated in cases and lodged in the jail which is the worst form of human rights violation. Aalam is being subjected to political vendetta."
