Medical camp organised at Zehanpora area of Baramulla

Baramulla, Apr 4:  The 53rd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Thurdy organised a free medical camp at Zehanpora village in Baramulla district.

The initiative was aimed to provide essential healthcare services to residents, particularly focusing on the elderly and economically disadvantaged individuals who often lack access to basic medical facilities and medications.

   

Commanding Officer of 53 Bn CRPF, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, in his address emphasised the significance of reaching out to remote villages like Zehanpora, where communities face challenges in accessing healthcare.

“Our free medical camp is dedicated to bridging this gap and ensuring that every individual, irrespective of their background, receives necessary medical attention,” Sharma said.

The medical camp was inaugurated by Gulam Ahmed Khan, the father of the late martyr Gulam Jeelani Khan, Assistant Commandant. The camp served as a tribute to the sacrifice made by Assistant Commandant Gulam Jeelani Khan, who fought against Naxalites and laid down his life for the nation on December 31, 2018, in district Khunti, Jharkhand.

“This is a small tribute for his supreme sacrifice. This initiative reflects our commitment to the welfare of the local populace, demonstrating that security forces are not only guardians of security but also deeply concerned about the well-being of the community during medical emergencies,” Sanjeev Kumar said.

The medical camp provided free consultations, treatments, and medicines for various ailments, including seasonal illnesses and complex health conditions.

Two CRPF doctors Dr Ajay Meena and Dr Ather Siddique along with medical staff of 53 Bn CRPF and Dr Yasmine Maqbool, MO Health Centre Zehanpora and Dr Khurshid Khan, BMO Boniyar attended the camp and advised locals on various health issues. Doctors provided free consultation followed up by free medicines to more than 300 patients.
