Former Parliamentarian and senior PDP leader Dr. Mehboob Beg has expressed grief on the demise of former Chief Secretary Iqbal Khanday who passed away late last night.
Khanday was a highly meritorious officer and that he rose to the post of Chief Secretary on the basis of sheer hard-work and merit, said Beg, in a statement.
“Officers like Mr. Khanday who were honest, upright and meritorious were rare to find and just when the State was about to see his very best, he got engulfed in a huge personal tragedy,” said Beg.
“This is a loss to the State and I take this opportunity to express my solidarity with his family. We have lost an illustrious son of the soil,” said Beg.
