Srinagar, Nov 19 : Former chief minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grave concern over the ongoing power crisis in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons she alleged that the power scenario is deteriorating day by day. Mehbooba said this is happening despite the assurances by the government regarding improvement in power sector. “ The power supply is available only for some time in Srinagar city and remains off for hours together in Srinagar city. This is the condition in Srinagar, one can imagine how bad the condition can be in towns and villages. The people are facing worst power crisis,” she said.
Mehbooba demanded restoration of kerosene oil supply for the consumers in absence of the adequate power. “ There should not be any stopping of the kerosene oil supply in absence of the power. Consumers must be provided the kerosene oil,” she said.
The PDP president also expressed concern over the frequent unscheduled power cuts and called for an end to such practice. The former chief minister also demanded timely release of pension and GP fund to the retired employees and viewed that they should not be made to suffer.
