A senior official in the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi feels that so far the ceasefire announcement has yielded positive results in Kashmir.
“People are offering prayers without fear and observing fast in a very peaceful atmosphere. We would go for a fresh feedback session and take all stakeholders on board before Eid and before making any announcement,” said the official who didn’t want to be named.
He said there was a possibility that Centre may extend the ceasefire up till the end of the Amarnath Yatra. The annual pilgrimage will start in mid-June and end by mid-August.
