Senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has urged the state government to start the work on the much awaited 93 MW new Ganderbal power project.
In a statement, Altaf expressed anguish over the "inordinate delay" in commencement of work on this vital project.
"The present PDP-BJP government is least interested in starting the work on this power project and both the parties have differences over it" Altaf said.
Altaf said that all the important formalities including land acquisition , forest and environment clearance were done during previous NC government "but still the present government is indecisive about the project work."
"Commissioning of the power project will benefit people and will give some relief to the people who are facing immense hardships due to power woes," he added.
