Incarcerated chairman of Ummat- e-Islami (UeI) and Mirwaiz South Kashmir Qazi Ahmad Yasir today said might and power could not crush the resolve of Kashmiri masses. "Delhi has terribly gone wrong in recognizing the ground situation. Rather than listening to the genuine demands of public, the state has used immense power to crush the voices of dissent. The way it has dealt with the imbroglio, it produced dangerous undercurrents which are visible in the form of love for the armed struggle. Rather than addressing the issue, it propagates the uprising negatively to create hatred among Indian citizens through media and its various paid organizations," Qazi Yasir said. "There is a dire need for the international community to wake up to the situation arising out of grave human rights violations committed by the state in Jammu Kashmir. The people of Jammu Kashmir are hopefully looking towards the international community, the UN, European Union, SAARC, OIC to resolve the long pending issue in a peaceful democratic manner as per the wishes of people of Jammu Kashmir" he added.
