A militant was killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir on Thursday, police said.
A police spokesman said that a cordon and search operation (CASO)was launched in Yaroo area of Langate following inputs about the presence ofmilitants which ensued in a gunbattle.
He said that one militant was killed and his identificationis being ascertained.
“Incriminating materials including rifle and grenades wererecovered from the site of gunfight,” he said.
