A militant was killed in an ongoing gunfight with the government forces in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, police said.
Reports said that the gunfight broke out today afternoonfollowing a search operation launched by the forces in Mir Mohalla locality.
A top police official told Greater Kashmir that one militantwas killed in the gunfight. He said his associate is still hiding in the housewhere the gunfight broke out.
Reports said a 12-year-old boy is also trapped inside the house.A police official said that several other civilians who were stuck in the houseafter the gunfight broke out were rescued.
