Srinagar Dec 15: A militant reportedly affiliated with Hizb ul Mujahideen outfit was killed in an overnight gunfight with security forces in Uzrampathri Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“PulwamaEncounterUpdate: 01 unidentified #terrorist killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow, ” a police spokesman tweeted on Wednesday.
Quoting a top police officer, news agency GNS identified the slain militant as Feroz Ahmad Dar resident of Shopian affiliated with the Hizb.
Dar, as per the report, had joined militant ranks in 2017 and was involved in many militancy related incidents.
The gunfight broke out late last night after security forces cordoned off the area following inputs about the presence of militants there.
