Militants attack army vehicle in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Militants attacked an army vehicle at Machpuna crossing on circular road of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday evening.

However, there was no report of any casualties.

   

According to a police source, militants were hiding in orchards and fired at a patrolling vehicle of army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles.

The army soldiers inside the vehicle retaliated by firing several shots, leading to a brief exchange of fire.

The militants, as per the source, managed to escape from the spot.

Soon after the incident, the forces personnel comprising Jammu and Kashmir police, army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off the whole area to nab the attackers.
