Militants on Monday evening attacked a Beacon camp in Verinag area of Anantnag district injuring one of the employees.
A police official said that militants first lobbed a grenade and then resorted to heavy firing.
“One of the employees identified as Pintoo Sharma sustained splinter injuries and has been hospitalized,” he said.
“The security personnel deployed at the camp retaliated,” police official said. “However, the militants fled after carrying out the attack.”
The area has been cordoned off by the police, army and CRPF and searches are being carried out to nab the militants.
