Militants Saturday evening fired towards Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 180 camp in Nowdal hamlet of southern Tral township in Pulwama district.
Commandant CRPF 180 told Greater Kashmir that militants fired few shots towards the CRPF camp in Nowdal. The troopers on duty retaliated the attack by firing towards the militants. The brief exchange of fire, he said, continued for some time but no loss of life or injury was reported.
As per locals the firing incident caused panic in the village. Following the attack reinforcements rushed to the spot and forces launched searches to nab the assailants, an official said.
