Militants attacked a patrolling party of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir police in Gangoo area in Pulwama district on Thursday, police said.
Militants fired at the joint patrol of forces on circular road at Gangoo and forces on duty retaliated immediately by firing few guns shots. The gunmen however fled from the spot,” a senior police official told Greater Kashmir.
He said that no causalities or damage took place during the exchange of fire.
Soon after the attack, additional reinforcements were rushed to the spot and entire area was cordoned off to nab the gunmen.
