Militants attack police post in a bid to snatch rifles

In an abortive bid to snatch rifles from policemen, militants attacked a police post at Saidpora village in Pulwama district on Monday.

A police official told Greater Kashmir that militants believed to be two to three in number indiscriminately fired at a police post guarding Sikh minorities at Saidpora in a bid to snatch weapons from the personnel posted there.

“Timely retaliation by the alert policemen foiled the bid but the militants managed to flee from the spot,” he said.

Soon after the attack army and police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the militants.
