The body of a one-year-old boy was recovered from a stream of Sindh Thursday morning, hours after he went missing from his home in Rezan area of Kangan in Ganderbal district.
Police said the boy, Waheed Ahmad Sontra, son of Mukhtar Ahmad Sontra, died of drowning in the stream.
The boy went missing Wednesday evening after which Police, accompanied by locals, launched searches to trace him.
Station House Officer (SHO), Police Station Gund, Lateef Ali told Greater Kashmir that locals and Police spotted the boy’s body while searching for him in the Sindh stream near Kullan Bridge Thursday morning.
He said the body was retrieved from the stream following which his medico-legal formalities were started.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal tweeted that the boy had drowned in the stream near his home.
