A minor girl drowned in a stream in Kangan area of Ganderbal district Wednesday afternoon.
An official said 3-year old Seerat Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad Dar of Lal Mohallah, Satrina, Kangan slipped into an irrigation canal while playing near her house.
Her body was fished out and taken to sub-district hospital Kangan where doctors declared her brought dead.
Later the body was handed over to her family for last rites.
