Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday “strongly condemned” the arrest spree in south Kashmir’s districts of Shopian and Pulwama ahead of parliamentary elections.
“Strongly condemn the daily arrest spree of youth fromPulwama and Shopian. Continued repression in #SouthKashmir is heart rendering,”said the Mirwaiz on Twitter.

Dozens of persons have been detained during night raids inShopian and Pulwama in past few days.
Both the districts are scheduled to go to polls on May 6during the last leg of three-phased elections for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.
