Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest in Srinagar on Saturday.
A spokesman said that apolice party arrived at the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz and placed himunder house detention.
He said that the policedidn’t give any reason for his detention.
