Mirwaiz Umar denounces civilian killings
Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the killing of a father-son duo by unidentified gunmen at Sagipora in north Kashmir's Sopore area.
"I strongly condemn the killings of innocent civilian Bashir Ahmad Bhat and his son Burhan. Killing of innocent people is not justified and goes against human values. I express solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family," the Mirwaiz said.
"We also condemn the killing of noted freedom fighter Fayaz Ahmad Bhat in Tangmarg", he further said adding that "it is incumbent upon Kashmiri people to show complete commitment and resolve towards freedom struggle for which martyrs like Bhat have laid their precious lives".
Meanwhile, the spokesperson said a party delegation led by senior Hurriyat leader Musadiq Adil visited Hardshivpora Sopore to condole the death of Amir Qadir Reshi and Naveed Ahmad Khan alleging "they were killed by the government forces."
The delegates expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family on behalf of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, the spokesman said.
