Missing north Kashmir girls recovered from Banihal: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that two girls missing from Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district were recovered from Banihal “after strenuous efforts”.

The girls belonging to neighbouring families of Pattan were missing for the past four days.

“Today the families reported the matter to Pattan Police Station apprehending abduction,” said a spokesman.

“Case FIR No 08/2018 under Section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Pattan, Baramulla. Police immediately swung in action and launched manhunt.”

“The girls after strenuous efforts by police were traced in Banihal. A police party accompanied by family members has been sent to Banihal to handover the missing girls to their families.”

He requested the people to immediately inform the police about such cases so that immediate action is taken.
