Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks on JK ridiculous: Shabir Shah

Condemning the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks on Jammu Kashmir and against the pro-freedom camp, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah today, terming these as "ridiculous."

"Mohan Bhagwat can say anything regarding India but Jammu Kashmir has its own identity and has never been part of India. RSS chief should bear in mind that there is no separatism in Jammu Kashmir but a freedom movement continuing since decades. He should go through the political history of Jammu Kashmir and should know that on October 27, 1947, India annexed this territory through military invasion and then took the issue to United Nations besides promising to give the people of this land the right to decide their future. Despite passing of 70 years, India hasn't fulfilled its promise and the people of this state continue to offer sacrifices of their lives to liberate their nation. By offering sacrifices of about six lakh human lives, the people of Jammu Kashmir have created a history," a spokesman of the DFP, in a statement today, said.

"The whole world is aware of the reign of 'terrorism' unleashed by New Delhi and its agents on the people of Jammu Kashmir for last 70 years in general and last four months in particular," Shah said.

Shah said, "If Mohan Bhagwat is really concerned of India and its people, he should stress on spending the country's budget on people's welfare rather on defense procurement which fulfill India's dream of becoming a big nation. But the prevailing atmosphere in India will only lead the country to economic disaster."

He said, "The RSS chief must stop intimidating Kashmiris and bear in mind that we are not scared of dying or being jailed. Such provocative remarks will only strengthen our resolve to fight for the freedom of our nation."
