Moon sighted, Ramadhan to begin in Kashmir tomorrow

Ramadhan will begin on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir as the moon marking the beginning of the holy month has been sighted.

The grand mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din told Greater Kashmir that the moon has been sighted. “We have received ample testimonies,” he said, adding the holy month will begin tomorrow.

   

Earlier, Pakistan also announced the sighting of the moon.

“The moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan has been sighted, Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman announced on Wednesday. The holy month will begin from May 17, Thursday,” reported Dawn News.

The holy month will also begin in Arab world tomorrow.
