Three days after his escape from police custody, a picture of Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed has surfaced on social media.
In another audio clip which also went viral, Hizb ul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naiko stated that Naveed and the militant who rescued him had reached a safe destination.
Naveed and Hizbul Mujahideen commander Saddam Padder from Shopian were seen together in a photo carrying AK-47 rifles. The photo in which both are seen wearing a smile and giving thumbs-up has gone viral on social media.
Later in the day, another photograph of Hilal Ahmed Rather of Begumbagh Kakapora went viral on social media. Hilal was seen in this photo with an AK-47 rifle.
Security agencies suspect Hilal as the key player of SMHS shootout which led to Naveed’s escape.
“After these pictures surfaced on social media, we have started verifying them,” said a senior police official.
