National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan has condemned the ongoing mass arrest spree by the police and other security agencies across Kashmir saying "it seems that the state government has started a war against the people of Kashmir to suppress their movement."
Nayeem Khan has also expressed his deep concern over slapping of PSA on prisoners and lodging them in different jails of Jammu province instead of keeping them in the Valley.
"The government must understand that it cannot crush or suppress the aspirations of this nation by killing, torturing, victimizing and imprisoning common people. By their priceless sacrifices and by exhibiting dedication towards the goal of freedom, Kashmiri people as a nation have morally defeated the Indian state. Now the government, through police and other security agencies, has started victimization of the common people to crush their sentiments and aspirations. By arresting and detaining thousands of people particularly the youth without any legal trial, the state government is uselessly trying to suppress this resistance movement," Nayeem Khan, in a statement today, said.
"These kinds of movements are always destined to achieve their goals as each and every soul of the nation has put everything on stake to get the desired freedom. Had it been possible to defeat this mass movement, Indian state would have done it long ago," Khan said.
