National Conference President and MP from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said his party commands people’s confidence.
“It is the result of the good work which National Conferencehas rendered in shape of elevating people from despondency to prosperity,” hesaid, in a statement.
Scores of delegations fromacross Kashmir called on Abdullah at his residence here to greet him on hisrelease. The delegations comprising workers, party functionaries, delegates andcivil society groups from Handwara, Qazigund, Amirakadal, Baramulla, Bandipora,Noorabad and Pulwama.
Addressing the delegations, Abdullah thanked them. “Our ideaof politics is shorn of all biases. We will continue to be a friend to people.The socio-political emancipation of poor and downtrodden has been the cornerstone of our politics. Ours is a people’s party, a true representative ofpeople’s aspirations and dreams, a party which has given platform to allwithout any discrimination. Our idea of politics is inclusive.”
Among others who metAbdullah include senior leader Sakina Itoo, Ghulam Hassan Rahi, Master Abdul AzizMir and Mustaq Ahmad Guroo.
