NC demands evacuation of Kashmiri labourers stuck in UP after ‘plight video’ surfaces online

National Conferenceon Saturday demanded the shifting of Kashmiri labourers stuck in Uttar Pradeshdue to lockdown restrictions to their homes after a video surfaced online inwhich a group of workers highlighted their plight.

A party spokesmansaid the government should approach their counterparts in UP to extend help tothe workers till they are brought home.

   

“The plight of Kashmiris stranded in UP is distressing. It is the responsibilty of J&K govt to ensure that these people and others like them are safely brought back to Kashmir. Till then @rohitkansal @Divcomkashmir can approach @BarabankiD to help them,” commented the spokesman, while retweeting the appeal video shared by the workers.

In the video, aworker said the wife of a worker died in Kashmir but he couldn’t travel to hishome due to lockdown restrictions. “Another member lost his mother back homebut he couldn’t travel to the valley to see her face for the last time,” saidthe worker.
