National Conference on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to Madar-e-Meharbaan, Begum Akbar Jahan on her 18th death anniversary which would be observed on Wednesday across the state.
National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, while paying glowing tributes said she was an epitome of selfless social service, conviction, piety and courage.
In his message National Conference vice-president, Omar Abdullah highlighted the tremendous work done by Madar-e-Meharbaan for the cause of women empowerment in the State and said she was a staunch advocate of educating women and providing them with equal rights of dignity, empowerment and honour.
Senior NC leaders including NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and others also paid glowing tributes to Madar-e-Meharbaan.
Meanwhile, a NC spokesman said that congregational Fateha-Khwaani would be held at Qaid Mazaar, Naseem Bagh at 10:30 am on Wednesday.
ANC PAYS TRIBUTE
Meanwhile Awami National Conference (ANC) senior vice-president Muzaffar Shah also paid tributes to Madar-e-Meharbaan.
He also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul, saying that she always stood for her depressed nation in her entire life.
