Newa Pulwama residents appeal govt to make playfield in area

A delegation from Newa Pulwama today appealed to the government that a playfield be developed over the grazing land in the area, which according to them has turned “barren”.

The delegation told Greater Kashmir that a huge chunk of pasture land, which has turned barren due to removal of top soil over last many years, is available for the ground.

“We have a huge plot of grazing land available in the village, which has become den of immoral activities. We want a playfield be developed on it,” the delegation told Greater Kashmir, adding that at least the “barren land can be utilized by young population of the area.”

The delegation said that Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti had committed that a playfield will be developed in the village.

One of the residents, Tariq Wani said the villagers were ready to evacuate pasture land, which was lying in their possession for last many years for the development of the playfield.
