Ahead of the reopening of strategic Srinagar-Leh highway, authorities on Thursday refuted rumours of any orders to ban civilian traffic movement during convoy movement on this road.
The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan, whiletalking to Greater Kashmir said, “Neither have we received any such ordersfrom the government to ban civilian traffic movement during convoy movement norany such orders have been issued by the district administration.”
He refuted the rumours being circulated on the social mediaabout ban on civilian traffic on Srinagar-Leh highway.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal KhalilPoswal said that strict action will be taken against people spreading rumourson the social media. “Civilian traffic will not be stopped anywhere in thedistrict to allow the convoy movement,” he added.
