No poll in 24 panchayathalqas, 347 wards of Bla

For the second phase of panchayat elections in Baramulla district on Tuesday, there will be no election in 24 panchayathalqas and 347 panch wards, while for Sangrama block, there will be no contest as all seven sarpanch and three panch candidates have been elected unopposed. 

For the 15 panchayathalqas and 129 panch wards of Sangrama block, election authorities received 10 valid nominations for sarpanch and four for panch wards. However, three sarpanch and one panch candidates withdrew their nominations. The authorities have therefore declared seven sarpanch and three panch candidates elected unopposed for the Sangrama block. 

   

For Wagoora block, elections will be held on Tuesday for 16 panchayathalqas while there will be no contest for panch wards. 

As per election officer, 16 panchayathalqas out of the total 32 and 221 panch wards out of the total 266 received no nominations in Wagoora block. The election authorities received 45 valid panch nominations and all of them were elected unopposed. So the election for the Wagoora block will be held only for 16 panchayathalqas.
