A non-local vendor was detained by the police after locals allegedly caught him while trying to abduct a minor girl at Magray Mohallah in Drugmulla of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
The mother of the girl said she was busy in household chores when her daughter cried for help. “My three-year-old daughter went out to fetch candies from a shop and all of a sudden she cried for help. I rushed outside and saw a non-local man trying to tie her hands with a rope,” said Shaheena, mother of the child.
The man was later handed over to the police by the locals. A police officer at the local police station confirmed the arrest of the man.
However, he refused to share further details.
