Northern army commander reviews security

The northern army commander lieutenant general Ranbir Singh arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday for a two-day visit to review the prevailing security situation in the wake of recent anti-militancy operations in Kashmir.

A Srinagar-based army spokesman said in a statement that Singh, accompanied by the Chinar corps commander lieutenant general KJS Dhillon, also visited the 92 base hospital at Badami Bagh cantonment, Srinagar, where he enquired about the health of the recuperating soldiers injured in the recent operations.

   

“He wished them all a speedy recovery. The army commander complimented the commanders and troops for their exceptional courage and excellent professional conduct. Appreciating the excellent work and vital critical care being provided by the doctors and support staff of 92 base hospital, he commended them for being the lifeline of the Valley,” the statement read,

Later, the army commander was given an update by the Chinar corps commander on operational and administrative aspects.

“He was very appreciative of the valour and professionalism of the security forces operating in Kashmir,” the statement read.
