In a shocking incident which triggered protests here on Monday, a seven-year old minor was allegedly raped by father of her friend at Harde Aboora village.
Police have identified the accused as Irshad Ahmad Shah who is a neighbour of the victim and father of her close friend.
A case vide FIR no 342, under section 342, 376 RPC has been registered at police station Magam.
According to police, on a complaint filed by the victim’s father that her seven-year old daughter has been sexually assaulted by the father of her friend when she visited her house.
Soon after the complaint, a police team headed by SHO police station, Magam, Firdous Ahmad, arrested the accused.
“The accused has been lodged at police station Magam. We have registered a case and await medical examination report,” said SHO Magam.
The victim’s father said his daughter is under trauma and shock after the incident.
“After visiting her friend’s house, the father of her friend who happens to be my neighbour took her to his bed room and sexually assaulted her,” the father of the victim has stated in his complaint.
The rape incident has shocked the entire area with the residents demanding stern action against the accused.
