The residents of Nowgam area of Sumbal block in Bandipora district on Sunday took out a protest rally against the water shortage and lack of development in the area.
The people blocked the Sumbal-Nowgam road for hours together. “All the successive governments have ignored our area. No steps have been taken for the development of social infrastructure,” Shabir Ahmad, a protestor said.
The protestors said that they were facing water shortage.
