The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday demanded that Rohingyas and “other infiltrators” should be repatriated from Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh, days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that all infiltrators living in the country would be expelled through National Register of Citizens (NRC).

“The NRC exercise will also be held in both the UTs ofJ&K and Ladakh and all Rohingyas and other infiltrators will have toleave,” said BJP General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul.

He said the Centre was firm in its resolve to ensure that allinfiltrators will have to go back to their respective countries.

“Once the NRC exercise is taken up Rohingyas, who have comefrom Myanmar and other places will be expelled,” Koul said.

This is for the first time that J&K BJP has demanded thatNRC should be extended to J&K too. Koul claimed that the NRC exercise willstart in J&K early next year.

Meanwhile, Koul said the delimitation commission, to be setup in J&K, would be headed by a judge from Supreme Court or High Court.

“The commission will be constituted by the end of thismonth,” he said.
