One person was killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident in Bakiaker area of Kupwara district on Monday.
The three persons injured in the road mishap were rushed to district hospital Handwara where from they were referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
An official said a Tata Magic (bearing registration number JK09-5209) collided with a motor cycle near Bakiaker crossing in Handwara resulting in injuries to three persons. One of the injured, identified as Ghulam Nabi War, resident of Bakiaker, later succumbed to his injuries. A police official said a case under FIR no 260/18 u/S 279,337 has been registered and investigation started.
