Only 40% of DDB decisions of Kashmir districts fully implemented

Reflecting the lethargic approach of government in implementing its own announcements, only 40 of percent of decisions taken during the district development board (DDB) meetings of Kashmir in the previous and ongoing fiscals have been fully implemented.

In a written reply to a question, the Government Thursday disclosed that 232 decisions taken in 2016-17 and 17-18 in DDB meetings of Kashmir are still under implementation

   

In total, 392 decisions were taken in all the DDB meetings of Kashmir. Of them, 160 have been implemented while 232 are under implementation, the reply reads.

“As many as 99 decisions of previous fiscal are under the process of implementation while 133 of ongoing fiscal are under implementation,” the government disclosed.

According to the reply, 14 decisions of Srinagar district, whose DDB is headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti herself, are under implementation.

In total, 31 decisions were taken in the summer capital during the previous DDB meetings. Of them, 17 have been implemented till date.

The performance of Pulwama and Shopian districts in implementing the DDB decisions in very poor. Out of 21 decisions taken during DDB Pulwama in 2016-17 and 2017-18, only four have been implemented while remaining 17 are under implementation.

In Shopian district, out of 23 districts, only one has been implemented fully while the remaining 22 decisions are under implementation.
