Opposition on Monday walked out of Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly to protest against the government's alleged failure to restore electricity and clear roads in rural areas of Kashmir post snowfall.

While the house witnessed uproar inside the House, opposition National Conference senior leader Ali Muhammad Sagar said they have also brought adjournment motion to demand discussion on the issue.

Earlier, the proceedings of the House began with noisy scenes after opposition staged protest inside the House and cornered government for its "failure" to clear roads in rural areas post snowfall in Kashmir.

The opposition members complained that electricity transformers were not repaired in most of the areas.

The opposition members stormed inside the well of the House to stage protest against the government's "failure" to deliver on the ground.
