PAGD busy defending its ‘loot’, people happy with accountability: Darakshan

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokeswoman Darakhshan Andrabi Friday said that while the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) associates were busy defending their loot, encroachments, misappropriation of funds, and scams, people were happy that at last everybody had been made accountable to the system in J&K.

A statement of BJP issued here said that Andrabi while meeting seven public delegations from different districts of Kashmir said, “PAGD doesn’t want their holy cows to be touched by investigating agencies. They shout vendetta when Police and other investigating agencies go ahead with their probe of many scams, frauds and system violations that have been reported so far. When they are accused of guilt, what is the harm in proving yourself innocent? But they know that their hands are not clean. They try to hinder the process of investigation by shouting foul.”

The statement said Darakhshan assured the people that now onward in J&K, there would only be the politics of development and public welfare and that all other bluffs would have no place in new Jammu and Kashmir which was in the making.

The statement quoted her as saying that the Lieutenant Governor’s administration was in the fast-speed mode of re-devising and implementing the economic, infrastructural and industrial development of J&K as well as streamlining the working systems within the government departments.

The statement said people from several districts discussed many local and J&K-level issues related to many fields including the state land encroachments, defective mechanism of providing of benefits of social welfare schemes to the needy, skill development centres, cooperative societies, roads and water supply issues and entrepreneurship-related problems with Andrabi.
